About

Colombian-American, Born and Raised New Yorker and Attorney

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME

Hello! Thank you for visiting my website and taking the time to learn more about my law practice and how I help my clients every single day. I am admitted to practice law in my home state of New York and as my home page tells you, I am an elder law, special needs and trusts and estates attorney---who also practices family law.

I was born and raised in a very ethnically diverse neighborhood in the borough of Queens the daughter of Colombian immigrants, where Spanish was my first language and spoken in the home. My parents taught me to appreciate and embrace my ethnic and cultural roots and it was a true gift to me.  My parents also gifted me in other ways and those gifts have no ethnic or cultural origin, namely:  integrity, honesty and transparency.

I graduated, with highest honors, from Fordham College at Rose Hill at Fordham University in the Bronx, and then attended and graduated from Fordham University School of Law near Lincoln Center in Manhattan.

I decided to go to law school because I wanted to help people- it really is that simple. I also believed (and still do) that an attorney’s special skill set could best accomplish this for people in need. I like helping people and guiding them to a resolution or result that places them in a better life position than when I first encountered them.

It is exactly this that led me to start my career in family law which, within a few years, opened the doors to elder law, special needs law and trusts and estates.  I often refer to these practice areas as “siblings” practice areas- because they ARE. In everything I do, the family (and the challenges they bring) is at the center. It is where I am meant to be.

In addition to practicing law, I also enjoy public speaking and teaching the law to my attorney colleagues, law students and the families seeking information. Some examples of my engagements can be found here. I am also active on social media, so please click on the icons on the top of the page to learn more about me.

I invite you to explore my website further and if you believe I can of assistance to you in your legal matter, feel free to go to my Contact page.

Very truly yours
